Rachel Maddow Is A Star and Keith Is A Chauvinist

Keith can only dream of being this good. Though I believe that he fought to some extent to get her on the air I think the big wigs were planning on doing it anyway. But how much you want to bet that it bothers him that she's doing so well? Apparently she can't seem to do anything without him putting his 2 cents worth in. And without it looking as if he is the sole reason she's on and doing good. She's been around for a long time. Hell, she was on Tucker Carlsons show numerous times. So Tucket gets "fired" and suddenly Keith is interested in her? Hmph.

If he was so good at placing people in the right positions, what the hell happened to Katy? I could almost guarantee you that if Rachel wasn't gay he wouldn't have had any input.
Women scare him. It's not that he doesn't like women because he does. He's just terrified of them.

But putting that aside, just for the moment, Katy could learn a thing or three from Rachel. First thing she could learn is how to dress properly on air.

On one side of her still-bare office hang about a dozen suits in varying shades of black and gray, her on-air uniform."It is a rainbow of monochrome," acknowledged Maddow, who dresses off-air like a gangly teenager in baggy jeans and sneakers. "I just want to meet a basic threshold of what you're supposed to look like on television so it's not a topic of concern or discussion."

The second thing she could learn is to relax. I feel sorry for her sometimes because she's not getting the proper education she needs to become a good news reporter. And Keith had the audacity to talk about women and credibility? I think he needs to sum up his own credibility before making such a stupid statement.

"There is a different set of standards regarding women and credibility and aggressiveness on the air," he said. "And Rachel manages to keep her credibility and her forcefulness and obviously her intelligence, but there's also just a fundamental likability that really works to her advantage."

That's very chauvinistic of him, isn't it? Was he trying to compare her to the women on FOX? Or even to Katy? There are news women all over this world with a great deal more credibility than he has.

He needs to quit while he's behind.

Rachel After The Debate

I got home Friday night just in time to watch Rachel do a live show so I watched her before watching the debate. After her show I only watched 15 minutes of the debate because I just couldn't handle McCain. He sounds too much like Bush and I won't listen to Bush at all.
Rachel, though, had me riveted. She's very informative and breaks everything down. And isn't afraid to talk to the scary Republicans. I enjoyed the show a lot.
Unlike Keith who spends more time on himself and bashing those who don't fit his mold. She clearly IS the breath of fresh air.

It may just be me but ever since the party girl moved in with Keith he's forgotten how to live. It use to be that he would call in sick quite often at work, but now he spends more time working.
Is it that he doesn't want to spend time with her? Think about it.
When he didn't have a girlfriend he didn't work that much. Now that he does, he's never at home..with her. They're never "photographed" together. And you never hear about her with him when the rags rag on him.

Keith is a sick puppy that will never heal. But thank God for Rachel because without her MSNBC would truly suck.

Rachel Maddow and CNN

I think from now until after the election I will be skipping Countdown and watching Rachel's show and recording the debates off of CNN. I will also watch the election on CNN.

Letting Keith loose on politics is like giving the car keys to an alcoholic. He doesn't know what the hell he's doing.
Countdown has become boring and predictable. I actually miss the stupid fluff stories on celebrities. And oddball is almost non existent.
Hopefully, after the election, Countdown will go back to what it use to be. I'm not holding my breath on it though.

Friday Night's Countdown

That was one of the worst Countdown's I have seen yet. Does Keith not realize how stupid he looks sitting there writing out a check on national television? Or is it that nobody would actually believe him if he just said he sent them a check?

By him doing that it just solidifies the fact that he can't relate to your average American. He wants to "fit in" but he makes too much money, which, by the way, he makes it known quite often.
How can you trust somebody to help those less fortunate when someone so obviously rich is making it a point to show you how rich he is? Just because he donated to the "special" needs people doesn't make him a "good" person. He obviously needed a reason to do it. Otherwise, he wouldn't have done it.

The show was lame. But the worst of it goes to Keith's attempt to make everybody think he really cares.

Oh, This Is Rich

I wonder if this comment was to help himself feel better or an excuse as to why Rachel's ratings have gone up.
Keith has no shame. So I would guess that he's trying to make himself feel better. If she continues to knock him down in the ratings he won't be applauding her that loudly. Eventually everybody will tune him out and turn him off. Mostly because they'll get tired of his whining and bashing and fighting with co-workers.
He just can't hold a candle to her where personality and attitude are concerned. She's nice and he's just plain mean.

http://nycpartygirls.blogspot.com/
However, he might want to be paying more attention to his little girl rather than being so concerned about his ratings.

This Is Hilarious

Thank you OW. You finally posted something funny.

OW Spin Off?

Well, not quite. I've been reading this for a while now and it seems that the OW kids have gone there to disrupt the flow of good tidings towards Keith.
I'm starting to think that there are more on the internet who dislike Keith than there are those who like him.
He gets over a million viewers each night but the majority of these viewers don't spend that much time on the internet praising him.
Maybe they figure the numbers speak loudly enough. I suspect that most of his viewers are Democrats..and that's good, but they're not going out and spreading the word. If they were, maybe Obama's ratings would be higher.

Countdown, though, has been kind of boring. Oddball has gone downhill and Keith's constant attacks on anybody Republican is getting old. How many different ways can you tell the same story?
I've been saying this for a long time; too much of a good thing isn't a good thing.
However, I did notice that Rachel's ratings have surpassed Keith's. This is a good thing. I think her show is much better than Keith's and she brings better snarkiness than he could ever do.
She's just better all around. So Keith might want to be careful. Rachel may just push him to the curb.

Where's That Magic?

I never saw Dan and Keith on Sports Center. Never even heard of it till Keith started doing Countdown, so I don't know of this "magic" that some have spoken of. What I do know is that I have yet to see any magic between them on FNiA.
I didn't watch much of it last week but what I did see was embarrassing. Not to me, mind you, but to all the adult males in this country.
Keith's childish behavior kept me from watching it. The giggling was incredible. And the stupid things that Keith would say was unbearable.

I did listen to Dan and Keith on the radio but that doesn't count. Why, you ask? Because most of their time was spent talking about their personal lives. And Dan chastising Keith for this or that.
Anyway, I decided to watch a little bit more of it last night and something just didn't seem right.
Keith looked out of place. His shtick wasn't funny and it's getting old.
If this is the so called "magic" that everybody's been hooting about then those people lived some very dull lives. I was expecting something really spectacular. Guess I was disappointed again.
Hell, I would say the only magic I saw going on was between Dan, Cris and Bob.

Keith doesn't fit in. He's become too much of a "liberal media" type to pull off sports. People look at him and think Democrat not football.
I'm not saying he doesn't have the right to do it. I'm just saying he's built himself a bad reputation in the "news market" to be selling sports in any fashion. And the only magic he's going to find is in his copies of his Harry Potter books.

Special Comment

It was good up to the last part. Too much repetition. But I'm not complaining. These things needed to be said and they were said.

Priority Update

It's been a while since I put Keith's priorities on here. So much has happened since the last time so I will update it.

Money, Job, Baseball, Kos, Football(Dan Patrick), Katy.

If Keith's boss..es came to him and told him that he would have to get rid of Katy in order to maintain his job status he would be upset but I think the choice would be very clear.
If he had to make a choice between Kos and Katy Kos would win.
If she told him she would leave him if he didn't stop doing Football he would tell her, "There's the door, but let me remind you of how difficult it's going to be out there without me."
That's the way people like him think. She is not a significant part of his life. He knows that he's at a point in his life where he can have just about any woman he chooses, and it wouldn't surprise me if he's dangled that in her face a time or two.
Poor thing. She's so not getting it. But I think she will...eventually.

Will He Be Able To Argue His Point?

MSNBC president Phil Griffin told The Hollywood Reporter that the channel made the decision Thursday night after re-evaluating the wisdom of having the two of them anchoring the coverage while at the same time giving opinions. He said the network decided it was better not having them feel like they have to restrain themselves. "If you move two feet over (from the anchor desk), you can say whatever you want virtually at the same time," he said.
(thank you KOE)

Okay, so maybe we've been looking at this all wrong. It's not so much a "demotion" as it is a more relaxed chance to speak his mind.
I don't buy into the pressures of the Republicans to get him out of the anchor chair during the debates and the election. If you recall, Hillary's camp bitched about the same things that the Republicans did. Is she a Republican?
I don't think that has anything to do with it. I think Keith's opinions and his constant bickering with co-workers played a huge role in this decision. And I don't believe for one minute that it was Keith's idea to move.
All that being said, the questions remain. Can Keith give his opinions without being a dickhead to his colleagues? Can he even argue his points?
We all know that he won't bring on any opposing points of view on his show. Now he has no control over who he is to encounter during these periods. Can he live up to these challenges without having a heart attack?

I say, let's not get angry over the move(not that I was) and embrace his opportunities to show just exactly how well he can handle it.
He's been challenged. Let's see if he can maintain professionalism while defending the Democrats and putting the Republicans where they belong.

He said last night that he was going to revisit the 9/11 video this week. I'm looking forward to it.
I am a Democrat and I will defend my right, and I will defend Keith's right, to say that the showing of that video was wrong in so many ways.

Don't get me wrong on this post. I still find Keith to be the biggest jerk around, and I will continue to dog his ass on a regular basis, because he has the worst foot in mouth disease I have seen in anybody, but when it comes to politics the Republicans need to go. They are going to get us all killed if we don't do something about it.

Poor Thing

She is just not a happy camper. Again. It must be difficult living in his shadow. She will always be nothing and a nobody as long as she stays with someone who can't even control his own life.
Do I feel sorry for her? Sometimes. But most of the time I think she should've known better than to jump into bed with someone she didn't even know.
Now she's paying the price for many past sad days and many more sad days to come. Eventually, she'll be the one who will need the psychiatrist.

And So It Continues...

I wonder how many more versions we're going to get until all of the truth comes out.
It can't be fun being in Keith's skin right now. But then, I figure it wouldn't be fun being Keith period.

I don't see a "special comment" coming. According to this article, Keith is out of politics...more or less.

His Insecurity Is Showing

20 hours a day of Convention Coverage.
Obama PR office releases - to the media of the world - the entirety of Obama's speech, 45 minutes in advance of him giving it, no "embargo," no "HFR" (Hold For Release).
I read 90 seconds of portions of it to try to get its tone. CNN reads portions, too.
The entirety of the speech is posted on this website before the excerpts are out of my mouth.
Therefore, I'm "trying to make" Obama's words mine?
How do you explain McCain's PR office, releasing 90 seconds worth of his speech - making its own editorial choices about what we'll see and what we won't - three hours before the speech, and all of us in the media reading/posting the excerpts.
I appreciate the support throughout this diary, but this post contradicts the writer's point that I was somehow not acting in the role of journalist at the convention. The release of the text of his speech, in advance, was by definition news and needed to be revealed and analyzed as quickly as possible.
By the way, we're still talking about a political speech here, not an advance copy of the last Harry Potter book being used as a spoiler.

Keith Olbermann on Mon Sep 08, 2008 at 08:52:50 AM PDT

Okay, who came away from this comment with the sound of "whine" in their head? The bold sentence was one of the stupidest things he could've said in the context of this comment.
Um, no, you were not acting the role of journalist at the convention. If you were you wouldn't have been such a dickhead towards your colleagues. And would be anchoring the debates.
Oh, wait, I forgot. It was YOUR idea to not do the anchoring. Jeez, how could I forget something like that so soon?

Hate To Say I Told Ya So, But....

Keith doesn't run MSNBC. He never has and he never will. I didn't buy it when it was first mentioned and I didn't buy it when it kept on going.

I had the feeling that his attitude during the conventions was gonna get him in trouble. And it doesn't surprise me that he would say "it was his idea" to make that move. Because you see, nothing is ever Keith's fault but everything is his idea.

"Phil and I have debated this set-up since late winter/early spring (with me saying, 'Are you sure this flies?' and him saying, 'Yes, but let's judge it event by event') and I think we both reached the same point during the RNC," Olbermann said by e-mail.

Of course you did. But at what point did Phil say, "Keith, you've gone too far and we can't have this sort of thing going on. So I'm taking you off of the lead and making you a flunky, along with Chris."

The fact is, Keith can't get along with anybody..and this goes with his live-in. He doesn't know how to maintain that focus on humanity. He doesn't know how to handle his sudden rise to stardom. And he can't function outside his own mind/ego.

One of the main problems with this whole entire situation is his association with Kos. I'm not saying Kos is a bad place but it's not a place for someone like Keith.
People who talk too much never listen. And they sure as hell don't understand. That is Keith in a nutshell.
He's so busy trying to make himself the best anybody has ever encountered but that causes him to miss the aroma of the roses. Which, in turn, feeds the haters and makes them the happiest people on earth.

Hmm, maybe that's what he wants. Misery loves company?

My advice? You need to stop providing everybody with so much information about yourself. Do your job and get away from Kos.
And try try try to give an opinion without being an asshole towards your colleaques.

Did He Clap His Hands?

Olbermann calls it, "the reporting equivalent of Chuck E. Cheese,"

This was what Keith said about all those balloons around Andrea Mitchell.

Here's an old guy who has no children and lives with a girl young enough to be his child. So I'm thinking he took her to Chuck E. Cheese several times. How else would he know what goes on there? Unless he goes by himself. And that I would believe.

WE WILL NEVER FORGET!!!!!

This is the video in question.

Some of these commenters don't realize that we will never forget 9/11. But they seem to think that we need to be reminded constantly. What they don't understand is that we know that they are using those deaths just to get their fucking votes.
I am so sick and tired of these people thinking that democrats are stupid. What happened on 9/11 happened to everybody. Not just Republicans or Democrats.
Everybody was united until Bush felt this urge to go to Iraq instead of seeking out Bin Laden and destroying the terrorists.
Can these Republicans actually believe that those who aren't Republicans want this sort of thing to happen again? If they do, then they are sadly mistaken. We just don't want Iraq to keep taking us away from the true targets.
From what I can see, the Republicans are cowards by invading a country that had nothing to do with threats against America.

I Couldn't Agree More

Sure, I dog Keith on a regular basis but the Republicans are notorious for trying to incite fear to get votes. They're riding on terror to get what they want and that's the most pathetic thing they could possibly do.

Off Topic

Sorry for the delays. Things have picked up tremendously at work and I will be moving to the second shift. This is to my advantage. They're giving me exactly what I've wanted for a long time so it makes me happy.
Of course, posting will be at odd hours but it should make the delays less frequent. Now all I need is a DVR. LOL. Which will be coming soon. ;-)

Sado Masochism or Low Self Esteem?

Merriam Webster describes happiness as being a state of well-being and contentment.
It's hard for a dictionary to describe what happiness truly is but it's close. What they don't mention is that happiness comes from the inside out not the outside in.
I bring this up because Keith stated on numerous occasions that he's the happiest he's ever been. Really? He could've fooled me. Happy people generally don't belittle and berate others in order to make themselves feel better. That's called low self esteem. How can someone be happy if they are constantly hurting others? Well, okay, then that would be sadomasochism. Would it not?

I have yet to see Keith's great happiness. Laughing doesn't constitute happiness. Snapping at your colleagues doesn't either. So where is this happiness he was so inclined to share with others?
I don't see it and I don't hear it. Especially not in the past couple of weeks. His smug attitude towards others, and his insatiable desire to have his ass kissed by Kos, is a clear sign of someone who is not content.

So maybe Keith is both. A sadomasochist and has low self esteem. It's been obvious that he loves to hurt people's feelings. Maybe he gets off on other people's pain. And it's been pretty obvious that his low self esteem has awarded him "new" friends he can call his own. Friends who will praise him to the point of his great smugness.

I just don't believe that Keith knows what happiness is. Unless his kind of happiness is misery. And I say, well, if misery is your calling, Keith, then you should go all out.

Oh Tucker!

You're so funny

Chicago: I saw you this morning on C-SPAN with the panel including Arianna Huffington and Peggy Noonan. I tuned in late, so I did not see the entire discussion, but I saw you mention how disturbed you were by Keith Olbermann's lack of objectivity. You anchored your own program on MSNBC for a while and I never noticed you exhibiting any objectivity. It seemed to me that you mostly promoted Republican talking points. Why the double standard? I also didn't see you mention despair at any of the Fox News personnel's lack of objectivity.

Tucker Carlson: My point wasn't that Keith Olbermann or Bill O'Reilly or I or anyone else is objective. There's long been a place for analysis, and there should be. My only point was that there ought to be a place for objectivity as well, and that discussions of politics -- particularly on election night -- ought to be anchored by journalists who don't have an obvious axe to grind. Otherwise you lose the trust of your viewers.

I understand what he's trying to say here but Keith hasn't lost the trust of his viewers. They love him so much he can do nothing wrong. Not even arguing with his colleaques could make them see anything wrong. And him anchoring on election night with all his Obama love isn't going to make them see anything wrong.

Lucky Keith

So Keith isn't going to the convention, huh? I was wondering how he was going to get out of that. Thank God for Gustav?

If it hadn't been Gustav it would've been something else. It's no secret that Keith is in the tank for Obama and doesn't like the Republicans, but it would be nice if he'd just come right out and admit it.

It's one thing for his boss..es to admit it, sort of, but why doesn't Keith? I mean, it's not like people are going to gasp and shake their heads in disbelief. But if you believe this then I've got a bridge to sell.

With Election Day two months away, Olbermann said he was not worried about Obama and John McCain taking control of his heart and mind.

Sorry bub, but it's already happened. It doesn't matter if he's doing sports or not, he's still going to post on Kos(obvious democratic site) and talk about himself. Apparently, he can't create a blog on the Countdown website and talk about himself so he uses a surrogate site(obvious democratic site) to make his flowery speeches.

Good grief, Keith. Just admit it.
