Obama Rocks!!!!

I love that guy. I love listening to him talk. I love watching him. And it's about damn time he put Wright in his place.

I watched The Verdict with Dan Abrams before I saw Countdown and got to see and hear most of that speech. Awesome. And then seeing it again on Countdown made it even better. I was hoping there wouldn't be any contradictions and there wasn't. :-)

Countdown was good tonight. But still..no news. They just don't do it anymore. Which is really sad.
Because of my job I don't get to see much of the news. The real news that is. So I have to read it on the internet because prime time cable "news" doesn't have any. These people are so damn busy playing politics, which in part is understandable, but they're also feeding their egos.
Especially Keith and BillO. But you couldn't pay me enough to watch BillO. I think he and Dick Cheney would make the perfect couple.

But I just don't understand why Keith fell into that dark pit with the rest of them. He lost total control of his own ego. What a bummer.

Tornadoes vs. Oddball

It was rather difficult to enjoy oddball tonight when you start with breaking news of a tornado disaster that took out half the damn town.
To me it seemed as if Keith wasn't going to let something so devastating ruin his happy night. Oh Lord help us all if something terrible should happen to..oh I don't know, SOMEONE'S HOME, that Keith would even half way care about.
At the end of the show tonight he pretended he was serious when he repeated the devastation. Thank God nobody was killed then Keith really would have had to pretend even harder.

I guess you can tell that pissed me off. It's what I've been saying for a long time. He doesn't care. Period.
It's not the fact that there wasn't more to report at the time, that's understandable, it's the fact that it was obvious he didn't want to do it.

I wonder how he would feel if a tornado hit his home and some so called anchor preferred to have fun rather than to show any kind of remorse for him.
Must be nice not having a heart. It makes life easier.

Murrow He Is Not

"The entirety of Murrow's career," Olbermann tells TVNewser, "testified to the fact that he was beholden, not to the ratings, not to his employers, not to his own self-interests, but to the truth and to the public good. It must have been rewarding beyond measure to find his ratings, his employers, and his self-interests served as a byproduct of his dedication to what was truly important.
"I quote his sign-off each night not because I have any right to claim it," Olbermann continues, "but for the same reason the show begins with the theme music from The Huntley-Brinkley Report: television news needs to aspire, whenever and wherever possible, and to whatever degree possible, to uphold the standards of those men whose memories are evoked, either by a passage from Beethoven, or the mere words 'good night, and good luck.'"

Yes, but between the beginning with the theme music from The Huntley-Brinkley Report and the end with the sign off of "Good night and good luck", there is nothing else similar.

When Keith first started Countdown I was amazed at how good he was. His writing was fantastic. But now? Not even close. His "special comments" are good but I didn't think they were book worthy. Only for the fact that they(special comments) were like Harlequin romances. The title may have changed but the story is the same.
Had he stayed true to himself, and to others, I think he would've been a great book writer. This is something I've always wanted from him. A good book.
Unfortunately, and sorry to say, his penis took over.

Where There's A Penis Joke/Problem

Countdown is on top of it.

That's Just Tacky

Wow!!! Keith has really gained weight big time. That's not good. But what gets me the most is that he won't go and get larger clothes. Why? Is he too lazy or does he think stressed buttons look sexy?
I use to think he was the best dressed anchor. Not anymore. He looks tacky.
I give kudos to David Letterman for telling him to his face that he's enormous.
Oh, and there is no way you're going to convince me that a 24 year old girl finds that sexy. I get the feeling their sex life is just about non existent. And from what I've seen of her lately, I would say she's not all that healthy herself.
tsk tsk

Anyway, Countdown was okay. But that so called comedian at the end was horrible.
And what kind of person makes it a point to look at letters(OGC) with their head tilted? However, it was funny so I guess it takes all kinds of weirdos to make you laugh.

Sorry About That

I've been extremely ill. I've had to deal with viral bronchitis and a bad sinus infection. This Spring hasn't been good to me at all.
I'm feeling better now, thank God, but I still have a slight cough.

Anyway, Friday's Countdown was pretty good..from what I can remember. :-) I think the questions for McCain were good and the American Idol in Bulgaria was hilarious. Was it Bulgaria? Too bad I couldn't laugh much, though, without coughing up a lung.hehe.

From what I saw of Countdown Monday it was boring. I turned away from the Hillary interview.
And I don't do Primary stuff. I just turn over long enough to see the results.

Hopefully things will get back to normal.

Because Harry Reasoner Said So

Well, that's make everything all right then, doesn't it? :-/
But hey, if Keith wants to stay a big baby for the rest of his life then who am I to complain. Maybe I could send him a large pacifier for his 50th birthday.

Anyway, Countdown was pretty good tonight. Loved the fish and the old lady. Or was it, the old fish and the lady? And poor Dick. We miss you. LOL.

And speaking of Dick. He's just a hoot, isn't he? That dude just really creeps me out. He has the kind of sense of humor you'd find in the movie The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Tonight's song. Something about a traffic cop. I'm thinking it goes: Traffic go, traffic stop, we must heed the traffic cop.

Okay, is it just me or is the back of Keith's head really really thick? It's not very attractive to look at while he's talking to the screen. But, two nights in a row he loves me so I guess I can't be too mean. ;-) It was, after all, a good show tonight.

on edit: his makeup is looking much better. It matches his neck and doesn't make him look like he's wearing a mask anymore.

Keith's Favorite Site

Wow! What the hell happened to them?hehe.

Wednesday's Song

Obviously it was a slow news night.

Countdown was kind of boring. I didn't watch the post debate show.

Bad Boy

Keith is not an unintelligent person, so I'm starting to think that he loves being a bad boy and is taking it as far as he can possibly go with it.
Come on, the guy has got to know that he's being hypocritical in a lot of the things he says. And he's got to know that "scary girl" isn't very good at what she does.
I think he keeps saying certain things just to get a rise out of people because he knows that as long as he says things that makes him look hypocritical, then those people will continue to talk about him. And what better way to get continuous publicity than to say things that are similar to the way he lives?
He knows he's a jerk. He knows he has hurt people (which that part is really sad). He knows he's difficult to work with. He knows he's egotistical. He knows he put "scary girl" ahead of those who really deserve that job. But he doesn't care, and that's the bottom line.
If he truly cared about someone other than himself he wouldn't abuse his power. Bad boys don't care about other people unless it serves their purpose.

So the more he talks about things that have "eerie similarities" to his life the more I'm gonna think he's doing it on purpose just to get more publicity.

Hey, I never said he wasn't a good business guy.

If I can recognize some of the songs or music that's played on Countdown I'll put them up for your enjoyment.

Check Out Those Skills

http://current.com/community/people/KatyTur

Maybe those skills should be changed to:

Bouncing
Bobbing
Lisping
Whining
Throwing Up
BJing

Under The Weather

Never underestimate the power of NyQuil. It will put you out of commission for several days. Unfortunately, though, it didn't work on my nasty cold. So I finally broke down and went to the doctor. Hopefully I'll start feeling better soon.

I didn't miss Countdown though. That's the advantage of being sick. All you can do is lay there and watch television.

I liked the idea of a wrestling match between Obama and Clinton, but that comedian on Thursday night just wasn't funny at all.

Mostly, Countdown was kind of boring.

Comb Over O'Reilly

I can't imagine looking at BillO long enough to notice whether he has a comb over or not. But it was funny.

The 'political funnies' would be funnier if they had someone funny on there. Haven't seen Mo Rocca in a long time. Whatever happened to him?

And did I hear Keith correctly? "Sometimes justice comes in the form of irony". Words to remember.

Also, the guy who mentioned that the child of this so called pregnant man is going to be confused isn't far off the mark. That child IS going to be confused. What I learned from that situation is that the husband is now the wife and vice versa. I don't consider that to be a very stable environment. But that's just me.

Countdown was typically political. I'll be glad when all of this is over so the show can get back to normal.

On edit: Okay, it was BillO who mentioned the pregnant guy. But, unfortunately, I'll have to agree with him. Eeeewww. I just hate doing that.

Nice Break

Welcome to the change. Though I refuse to be extremely hateful it doesn't mean I'm going to be that light either. Countdown is good. It's the host I find rather questionable.
Comments are open but don't expect me to always publish or reply.

It was nice to take a week off and sit back and relax. Didn't see much of Countdown but I read that Rachel Maddow filled in last night. I bet she did a good job. I'll have to go check out the videos.
