Special Comment

It was good up to the last part. Too much repetition. But I'm not complaining. These things needed to be said and they were said.

I noticed Keith didn't put his "special comment" on Kos this time.
Is he finally getting wise?

Oh, the selected outrage.

So why is it okay for MSNBC to show hours of the 9/11 event today as it happened 7 years ago?

I know Keith doesn't really believe that McCain has some secret plan to get Bin Laden. Why in hell did he waste so much of his SC talking about it?

Other than that, it was pretty good.

I saw that video. Wasn't impressed.

Why is it okay for MSNBC to show hours of 9/11 but complain about it being shown at a Republican convention?
That is what you're asking, right?

Well, in defense of MSNBC it was done in a memorial point of view and not designed to scare people into voting for them. It's to always remember what happened.
Republicans have no issues to run on so they ride on their unsuccessful accounts of 9/11.
In the 7 years Bush has been in office has he caught Bin Laden? NO. Has he made our borders safer? NO. Did he start a war in Iraq for the sole purpose of putting Al Quaida in Iraq? Yes. Does that mean we're safer? NO.
The only thing Republicans have been able to do successfully is impede on our privacy, break the law countless times and kill a lot of innocent soldiers and Iraqis.
Please, I would like you to explain all of this away.

Marinara, this is the first I've heard of McCain's accounts so I'm not gonna be too harsh on what Keith said.

The RNC video was also a tribute video. The video was not what Olbermann claimed it was in the least.

I went back to look at the video again but unfortunately it's not available anymore.
I did see only part of it and what I saw was not, in my opinion, a tribute.
But I will take your word for it. However, Republicans have absolutely nothing to claim but a horrible disaster, and yet they want everybody to think that they are the best people to fight the war of terror.
The only good thing they did was go to Afghanastan and kill the Taliban. After that, they took on the Americans.
Republicans try everything they can to keep us afraid. And frankly I'm sick and tired of it.
They are doing nothing to help the people of this country. So...they think that by keeping us all in fear then we will forget that the economy sucks badly, gas prices are outrageously high, more and more people are losing their jobs and the rich keep getting richer while the poor keep getting poorer.
So I guess it's okay to save this country from attacks from the terrorists but the people don't count.
Maybe they want the land all to themselves and all their rich white friends.
You can't have your cake and eat it too.

If the Republicans win again there will be no people left here to "protect".

That RNC "tribute" video was nothing but fear mongering and war mongering. It's sole purpose was to remind people of the graphic images and remind them of the fear. It did nothing to touch on the heroism or personal tragedy of that day. It was disrespectful and disgusting.

Keith was totally right, and I'm so glad he said something about it that night and in a Special Comment.

I like what Jon Stewart said to Mike Huckabee when he was a guest on The Daily Show, whoring for McCain/Palin.

"So, you want us to vote for your party, because it's the only party that can repair all the damage that your party has done over the last eight years?"

flowergirl said...

Anonymous, you're exactly right.
Dictators keep their people in fear. This is a country of people that can make up their own minds and if they don't do it right then we're in for another four years of pain and suffering.

Marinara,
That's good. I'm glad Jon Stewart said that.
What was Huckabee's reply? I bet he couldn't say anything that sounded anywhere near the truth.

He made sure his comments were at the end of the interview. All Huckabee could do was laugh and shake his hand.

Hehe. Good for Jon. Don't give Huckabee a chance to make a bigger fool out of himself.

Thanks. :-)
