20 hours a day of Convention Coverage.
Obama PR office releases - to the media of the world - the entirety of Obama's speech, 45 minutes in advance of him giving it, no "embargo," no "HFR" (Hold For Release).
I read 90 seconds of portions of it to try to get its tone. CNN reads portions, too.
The entirety of the speech is posted on this website before the excerpts are out of my mouth.
Therefore, I'm "trying to make" Obama's words mine?
How do you explain McCain's PR office, releasing 90 seconds worth of his speech - making its own editorial choices about what we'll see and what we won't - three hours before the speech, and all of us in the media reading/posting the excerpts.
I appreciate the support throughout this diary, but this post contradicts the writer's point that I was somehow not acting in the role of journalist at the convention. The release of the text of his speech, in advance, was by definition news and needed to be revealed and analyzed as quickly as possible.
By the way, we're still talking about a political speech here, not an advance copy of the last Harry Potter book being used as a spoiler.

Okay, who came away from this comment with the sound of "whine" in their head? The bold sentence was one of the stupidest things he could've said in the context of this comment.
Um, no, you were not acting the role of journalist at the convention. If you were you wouldn't have been such a dickhead towards your colleagues. And would be anchoring the debates.
Oh, wait, I forgot. It was YOUR idea to not do the anchoring. Jeez, how could I forget something like that so soon?

Well, my name is not in the recommend pile. I would love to post the comment "methinks the gentleman doth protest too much", but I'd probably get a troll rating. And I do want to continue posting there.

If only Keith knew that the best way to maintain an aura of mystique at that place is to stay off it when people are speculating negatively. But he can't. He has to go there and open his big mouth. He scans that place every day looking for stuff about himself, and they all know it.

Yes he does but he needs to stop. It's almost as if he needs their approval to continue on with his life. And that's really sad.

As if? I do need their approval and their adoration. I need everyone's adoration. The EGO must be fed, got it?
