Will He Be Able To Argue His Point?

MSNBC president Phil Griffin told The Hollywood Reporter that the channel made the decision Thursday night after re-evaluating the wisdom of having the two of them anchoring the coverage while at the same time giving opinions. He said the network decided it was better not having them feel like they have to restrain themselves. "If you move two feet over (from the anchor desk), you can say whatever you want virtually at the same time," he said.
(thank you KOE)

Okay, so maybe we've been looking at this all wrong. It's not so much a "demotion" as it is a more relaxed chance to speak his mind.
I don't buy into the pressures of the Republicans to get him out of the anchor chair during the debates and the election. If you recall, Hillary's camp bitched about the same things that the Republicans did. Is she a Republican?
I don't think that has anything to do with it. I think Keith's opinions and his constant bickering with co-workers played a huge role in this decision. And I don't believe for one minute that it was Keith's idea to move.
All that being said, the questions remain. Can Keith give his opinions without being a dickhead to his colleagues? Can he even argue his points?
We all know that he won't bring on any opposing points of view on his show. Now he has no control over who he is to encounter during these periods. Can he live up to these challenges without having a heart attack?

I say, let's not get angry over the move(not that I was) and embrace his opportunities to show just exactly how well he can handle it.
He's been challenged. Let's see if he can maintain professionalism while defending the Democrats and putting the Republicans where they belong.

He said last night that he was going to revisit the 9/11 video this week. I'm looking forward to it.
I am a Democrat and I will defend my right, and I will defend Keith's right, to say that the showing of that video was wrong in so many ways.

Don't get me wrong on this post. I still find Keith to be the biggest jerk around, and I will continue to dog his ass on a regular basis, because he has the worst foot in mouth disease I have seen in anybody, but when it comes to politics the Republicans need to go. They are going to get us all killed if we don't do something about it.

I'm glad Keith went back to NYC. He couldn't give his opinion on the Rethuglicans while he was supposed to be anchoring, and that's what we want to hear, isn't it? I love him for his opinions, not his personality.

I think it's true what the Post said about him wanting an indoor studio, or more security, or he wouldn't go to the RNC. So, technically, it was his decision to move, because he knew they wouldn't give him that. He may not have asked or demanded that he go back to NYC, but he made sure that was their only choice if they wanted him to be involved in the RNC coverage at all.

He doesn't have people on with opposing viewpoints because he knows he'll get pissed off at them, like he did with Joe Scar and that Repub analyst, Murphy. He simply cannot control his mouth when he gets angry. He ought to take a lesson from Rachel (yeah, right!) on how to behave when interviewing someone who does not agree with you. Look how she handles Pat Buchanan. I think she even likes the guy.

Can he argue his points? He did pretty well with JScar, but he didn't even try with Murphy. He let Tweety handle that Moran.

His temper with those who disagree with him is why I'm still on the fence about whether or not he is mean to Katy. She is not involved in any of his current professional problems, so the source of her unhappiness may be her co-workers, her bosses, family, the IRS, etc.
Might not be Keith at all.

It probably is, but it might not be.

Flowergirl as you know I love all my fans. Because they love me, as they should. Look I got a raise out of this. I am loved by the execs. LOVED. If they really hated me, they'd shove me out of the picture altogether but they can't. And you know why? I'm the LORD of MSNBC. Sir Keith. Has a nice ring doesn't it?

Marinara,

I don't think he handled Joe well at all. I think he was kind of nasty to him.

As for Keith being mean to Katy? His past record speaks for itself.
Keith doesn't change for the good.

KOE,

There is something really disturbing about you.(not the alter ego ego) LOL. Maybe it's the accuracy in which the ego speaks.

Actually I liked him much more when he interjected a little random snark on those from both sides of the political aisle. Once he decided to jump the fence into full blown blow-hard bully, no matter that I actually did and still do agree with him politically, I prefer my anchors to try and maintain at least some fashion of objectivity.

And why should he be allowed to anchor from the safety of NYC while every other major anchor from every other network was at the RNC? What makes him so special? Nothing. Except MSNBC and NBC have coddled him and he's behaving badly, very badly. And if you can't use your moral force for good, just stay home and shut up. Keith's primary objective is promoting Keith. And only Keith. Don't think that politics comes first for him. I doubt it's even in the first five positions of his thought process.
